Peggy McCubbin Strawder of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James McCubbin and Geneva Williams McCubbin, was born October 25, 1947 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 3:35 A.M., Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 74
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple.
Peggy was a hard worker with a caring heart. She was a nurse for many years, ran a mini-home, fostered medically fragile kids and always had an open door for anyone who needed it. She loved her family fiercely and was a Mawmaw to many.
She united in marriage to Jack Strawder January 26, 1990.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Jack Strawder of Campbellsville; two daughters: Mary Jo Green and husband, Archie and Brooklyn Strawder of Campbellsville; two grandsons: Zac Green and fiancé, Lora of Magnolia and Gage Green of Port Orange, Florida; one great-grandson, Waylynn Green; three brothers and one sister: Randy McCubbin and wife, Janet of Campbellsville, Donna Harlow of Mt. Washington, John McCubbin and wife, Nancy of Indianapolis, Indiana and Greg McCubbin and wife, Debbie of Vera Beach , Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Cordie Ellen “Sissy” Mardis Hedgespeth, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Herbert St.Clair and Naomi (Short) Mardis and stepdad: Arle Mardis was born October 11, 1941 in Greenville, Indiana and departed this life on Thursday, October 13, 2022 in Louisville at the Jewish Hospital. She was 81 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Campbellsville Separate Baptist Church. She was a former caregiver, healthcare worker, and homemaker.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Mardis.
Survivors include her children: Hank Mardis and wife Lana, Ann Burnell and husband Brian, Jerry Mardis and wife Melissa, Carla Mardis and companion David Lynch, Jason Mardis and wife Anita and Nicole Moffit; a brother: Doyle Mardis and wife Lavon, Roy Mardis and wife Anita and Linda Burris.
Also surviving is her companion: Steve Woodrum; twelve grandchildren: Shawne Mardis and wife Jessica, Matt Dickens, Jonny Dickens and wife Jessica, Tiffany Hardin and husband James, Briana Mardis, Jimmy Moss and wife Rikki, Ashley Gilbert and husband Bradley, Destiny Coomer, Calob Cox, Jasmine Cox, Amber Cox and Demarcus Moffit; eight great-grandchilden: Izzy Dickens, Lucas Dickens, Alistair Hardin, Silas Moss, Sawyer Moss, Ellie Gilbert, Wyatt Coomer and Gannon Coomer.
The funeral service for will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 12 noon in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brockman Cemetery.
Bro. Raymond Atwood will be officiating.
Visitation 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday and after 8 A.M. Wednesday until time for the service.

Pamela Jean Kilian of Columbia, the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Schall) Kilian, was born February 12, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana and departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Jamestown at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home. She was 75 years of age.
Pamela enjoyed painting and playing card games.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons: Paul Davis and Louis Davis, both of Indiana; one sister; two brothers; six granddaughters; eight great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Also her special friends: Jenny Holtzclaw and Tiny Sneed, both of Columbia and a host of other relatives and friends.
To honor the request of Pamela, cremation rites will be entrusted to L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Marie Gupton of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Barnes and Mattie Harmon Barnes, was born July 23, 1931 in Russell County, Kentucky. She died at 9:43 A.M., Thursday, October 13, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 91
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of God’s Grace Church.
She was a retired worker at Fruit of the Loom where she worked for thirty seven years.
Marie was a devoted Christian who read her Bible often. She was a fantastic mother who always had a smile on her face, enjoyed time with all of her family, but most importantly, loved the Lord.
She united in marriage to Lewis H. Gupton November 12, 1949 and he preceded her in death December 29, 2013.
Marie is survived by two sons: Ronnie Gupton and wife, Lisa of Campbellsville and Jerry Gupton and significant other, Linda Moore of Springboro, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Edna Gupton; nine grandchildren: Jade Sanders and husband, Neil, Brandon Gupton and wife, Amy, and Michelle Tucker and husband, Frank of Campbellsville, Jason Gupton and wife, Laura of Centerville, Ohio, Sarah Nottingham and husband, Mark of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lindsay Saylor and husband, Brad of Scottsdale, Arizona, Charlie Lininger and wife, Kim of Corydon, Indiana, Hannah Rothrock and husband, Ty of Ramsey, Indiana, and Darren Gupton and wife, Beth of Campbellsville; twenty one great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Fred Alvin Purvis, Jr., of Campbellsville, the son of the late Fred Sr. and Dolly (Patterson) Purvis, was born October 29, 1947 in Mercer County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Greensburg at the Green Hill Manor. He was 74 years of age and of the Christian Faith.
Fred was a retired teacher and coach for Taylor County High School and Campbellsville Middle School Basketball teams.
His hobbies would consist of sports, sports and more sports.
Survivors include a daughter: Bethany Fulks; two grandchildren: Brylee Sprowles and Grace Fulks and a host of friends.
The funeral service for Fred Alvin Purvin, Jr., will be Friday, October 14, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg beside his parents.

Janice Brown Corbin, 85, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was born November 8th, 1936, in Russell County (Ono Community), Kentucky, to the late Athol Brown and Zilma Dunbar Brown. She passed away on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.
She was a retired schoolteacher having taught thirty years, beginning in Russell County in a two-room schoolhouse and retiring from Campbellsville. Janice was also a Kentucky Colonel. She professed faith in Christ early in life at Square Oak Baptist Church. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and has attended for many years.
Janice married her best friend Dennis K. Corbin, whom she met while attending Lindsey Wilson College. They married August 13th, 1959, and he preceded her in death May 25th, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. Her and Dennis loved to travel and visit almost every state including Canada and Nova Scotia. Their favorite trip was traveling by car to Alaska to celebrate their 36th wedding anniversary.
Janice is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: David and Kimberly Corbin.
One granddaughter: Mariah Corbin and her husband, Jared Nicholas.
One grandson: Kyle Corbin and wife, Alex.
Two great-grandchildren: Josie Corbin and Walker Corbin.
One sister: Gladys Kimbler.
Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother: Glenyce Brown, March 1989, Joyce Luckett, October 2020, and Roger Lee Brown, September 2009.

Charlie Robinson of Campbellsville, son of the late James William “Will” Robinson and Pauline Bottoms Robinson, was born August 24, 1945 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 4:00 A.M., Saturday, October 8, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 77
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Knifley. Charlie was a devout Christian and read his Bible nearly every night.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was a retired knitting room employee at Fruit of the Loom in Jamestown.
Charlie united in marriage to Pauline Kelsay November 13, 1967.
He loved digging in the woods and reading.
Besides his wife, Pauline Robinson of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and Kevin Shirrell of Campbellsville; one son-in-law, Harlan Jessie of Greensburg; two grandchildren: Kristin Smith and husband, Brandon and Blake Shirrell of Campbellsville; one expected great-grandchild; one sister, Norma Robinson of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Charlie was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Nichelle Jessie and a brother, Edward Robinson.

Mr. Tony William Mitchell of Campbellsville, son of the late William Luther “Billy” Mitchell and Mary Lou (Christie) Banks departed this life at his home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 11, 1958, he was 64 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Six siblings: Doretha Moore, Margaret Beck and husband Joseph, Ramona Lynn Moore, James Burgess and wife Marsha, Ronnie Burgess, and Carol Jean Griffie,
A niece and close friend: Linda Lee and husband John,
And several other family members and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two siblings: Jimmy Mitchell and Sharon Burgess.
At the request of Mr. Mitchell, cremation was accorded him by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville. A memorial service will be held in Indianapolis at a later date.
