Jason Alan Jones

Jason Alan Jones, age 69, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, departed from this earthly life on September 23, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his father, Milton and brother, Paul.

Jason was born March 22, 1953, in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Milton and Geraldine Jones.  He was a graduate of Taylor County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University.  Jason professed faith in Christ and was a lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as the worship pianist for 14 years.

Jason recently retired from his lifelong passion as a dairyman, however, he remained active tending a garden, raising heifers, chickens, bees, and crops amid assisting as caregiver for his mother.  Jason was a member of the Kentucky Holstein Cattle Club, Green River Beekeepers and a financial supporter of the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Jason will always be remembered for his generosity to the Bengal community and beyond.  He visited regularly with those in the neighborhood, delivering fresh produce from the garden, baked goods, eggs and honey.  He wouldn’t go a day without checking on the wellbeing of extended family, friends and peers.

Jason is survived by his mother Geraldine and sister Sharon Harris (Brian) of Campbellsville, Nieces Carly Davis of Nashville and Sara Kwak (Meong) of Philadelphia, PA.  Nephew, Benjamin Harris-Medina (Elizabeth) of Lexington, KY. and “brothers in life” Tim, Neil and Ryan, along with a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends who were blessed by their time with him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, Kentucky.  Visitation begins at 9:00 am with the service at 11:00 am.  A fellowship meal will be held at Campbellsville First United Methodist Church, 317 East Main Street, Campbellsville following the service.

Honorary Pallbearers are Barry Blevins, Mary Bauer-Dauenhauer, Neil Hooper, Tim Hooper, Jane Ransdell and Ryan Shofner.

Marilyn “Pat” Perkins

Marilyn (Pat) Joan Hennessee Perkins was born on September 21st, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William F. and Florence I. Hennessee.  She passed from this life on Monday, September 26th, 2022 at her son’s home in Athens, Alabama.  She was 91 years old.  She was married to the love of her life, James R. Perkins, for 56 years when he passed in 2003.  She was baptized into Christ in Greasy Creek during a Gospel Meeting, and served the Lord faithfully as a member of the Church of Christ.  She was a graduate of Green County High School.  After raising her children she worked 6 years in the cafeteria at Taylor County High School, a job that she loved.  She was a member of the Walnut Grove Homemakers club, an outstanding cook, and supportive of all of her children’s endeavors.

She is survived by one daughter, Patty Reynolds (Steven) of Campbellsville, Kentucky and three sons:  Kenny Perkins (Dian) of Franklin, Kentucky, Jim Perkins (Denise) of Georgetown, Kentucky and Bill Perkins (Elayne) of Athens, Alabama.  She has eight grandsons and three granddaughters; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a great many friends in Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.

She is preceded in death by 1 daughter, Peggy Clark (Steve) of Campbellsville.

Michael Jones, 53

Michael Jones of Campbellsville, the son of the late Archibald and Bessie (Ingram) Jones was born August 6, 1969 in Louisville, KY and departed this life on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in Louisville at the Baptist East Hospital. He was 53 years of age.

He was a medical caregiver and was of the Christian Faith.

Michael enjoyed music and working on cars, and was a former electrician, a fix-it man, and a fan of UK and Cincinnati sports.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Penny Jones; a sister: Gwen Price; two brothers: Archibald Jones, Jr., and Wendell Jones.

Survivors include four children: Megan Jones and fiancé Garrett Haggerty, Michael Jones, Katelynn Jones, and Hunter “Kane” Jones all of Campbellsville; his step-children: Lisa M. Butler, Tim A. Brown, Pam K. Hay, Brenton Kasey, and Tristen Kasey; a sister: Wilma Crisler and husband Peter of Louisville, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Michael Jones will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Rev. Freddy Thompson will officiate.

Family requests visitation after 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday until time for the service.

Kathy Graham

Kathy Graham of Campbellsville, daughter of Roxanne Farmer Perry and the late Michael Warner Perry, was born December 30, 1961 in Jefferson County, Kentucky.  She died Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Nashville.   Age:  60

Kathy had been employed as a Teller at Taylor County Bank for several years.

She is survived by two daughters and one son:  Sheere Newton and husband, Ben of Campbellsville, Erika Renee Gaines and husband, Jeff of Winchester and Clint Graham and wife, Emily of Edmonton; thirteen grandchildren:  Macon Graham,

Joy Graham, Stella Graham, Vivian Graham, Eliza Graham, Tate Newton, Luke Newton, Bryce Newton, Riley Newton, Ella Gaines, Cana Gaines, Selah Gaines and Cruz Gaines; one sister and one brother: Bethany Perry of Tennessee, and Mike Perry of Colorado; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Kathy was also preceded in death by her step-father, Ron Coleman.

NINA AUBERRY MIKEL OBITUARY

Nina Auberry Mikel, 57, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of Donald Auberry and Linda Elizabeth Hayden Auberry of Campbellsville, was born December 18th, 1964, in Marion County, and departed this life on Saturday, September 24th, 2022, in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

She professed her faith in Christ and was of Baptist Faith.  Nina was the former owner/operator of Nina’s Hair Salon on 1st street in Campbellsville.  She was a graduate of Hair Design School in Radcliff, Kentucky.

Besides her parents, Donald and Linda Auberry, Nina is survived by:

One daughter:  Ashley Auberry and her significant other, Harley Cox, of Campbellsville.

Two sisters: Tina Farmer and her husband, Ronnie, of Lebanon, and Jennifer Summers and her husband, Craig, of Campbellsville.

One brother:  Don Auberry and his wife, Mindi, of Campbellsville.

One grandson: Aiden Spaulding of Lebanon.

One Nephew, Matthew Auberry

Two nieces:  Chelsey Milby and her husband, Blake, of Campbellsville, and Presley Summers of Lexington.

Along with a host of other family and friends.

VISITATION:  Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, from 5pm – 8pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home and Cremation Services in downtown Campbellsville.

KEVIN JAXTYN QUINN OBITUARY

Our precious little angel, Kevin Jaxtyn Quinn, beloved infant son of Barry Tyler Quinn and Breanna Paige Combs of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was born Thursday, September 22nd, 2022, and gained his wings and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022, at Norton’s downtown in Louisville, Kentucky.

An angel wrote in the book of life sweet baby’s date of birth then whispered Kevin’s name softly as she closed the book, “Too beautiful and precious for earth sweet child.”

Besides his parents, Kevin is survived by:

Four sisters:  Kaydence Combs, Kennadi Quinn, Scarlett Quinn, and Oakley Quinn, all of Campbellsville.

Grandparents: JoAnna & Louis Richards and Lucretia Chappel, all of Campbellsville.

Kevin is preceded in death by his grandfather:  Kevin Todd Quinn.

Clara Martha Gaskins Humphress

Clara Martha Gaskins Humphress, age 84, of Knifley, Kentucky, departed this life surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the University of Louisville Health, Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Humphress was born March 15, 1938, in Ella (Adair County), Kentucky, to Elbert H. Gaskins and Mary Belle Pike Gaskins.
Clara married the love of her life, William “Bill” Lowell Humphress, February 22, 1958, and together they raised four children in Danville, Indiana. While in Indiana, Clara worked at Danville Junior High School where she was well known for her culinary skills, especially her cookies. She was “Team Mom” to hundreds of little leaguers over the years and kept ample supplies of “snacks” for their hungry appetites.
In 1997, Clara and Bill returned to Adair County and built a home on the family farm. Having accepted Christ as her Savior early in life, Clara attended Christie Chapel United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing and using her beautiful alto voice to sing his praises. She was always eager to grow, often seeking ways to improve and learn effective tips for singers. She also loved to read mystery books and play with her dogs and black cat, Ebony. In her spare time from cooking and baking she enjoyed watching University of Kentucky Wildcats and NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon. Clara was a beautiful, charming, kind, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son William Mitchell “Mitch” Humphress; and sister Dorlis Hitch.
Clara is survived by –
Three children: Donald Lowell Humphress of Indianapolis, IN; Sonjia Kay Humphress Weaver and her husband, Brian R. Weaver, of Asheboro, North Carolina; and Kerry Lee Humphress and his wife, Brenna S. Humphress of Columbia, Kentucky.
Eight grandchildren: Kristen Moore (Kevin) Indianapolis, IN; Jon Humphress (AnneMarie) Newburg, IN; Jacqueline Phillips (Jake) Indianapolis, IN; Jesse Breanne Kellogg (James) Adams, TN; Samuel Ky Weaver (Hannah) Junction City, KS; Faith Laurel Weaver (Alex) Denver, CO; Brendan David Scott Rowland (Jenelle) Rossville, IN; and Jacob Dale Higgins of Columbia, KY.
Eleven great-grandchildren:
Two sisters: Arlene Adkins, Shepherdsville, KY; and Margie Carter, Marion, IN.
One brother: Harlin Gaskins (Carolyn), Campbellsville, KY.
And, many other family and friends who will treasure sweet memories of Clara.

Robert Wayne “Bob” Huff, 72

Robert Wayne “Bob” Huff, of Campbellsville, formerly of Indiana, was born September 10, 1950 in Shelbyville, Indiana to the late Jack and Norma Huff and departed this life on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Bowling Green at the Hospice House. He was 72 years of age.
He was a retired employee of General Motors.
Bob enjoyed woodworking, bargain shopping, fishing, knife collecting, driving and kids and was of the Christian faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Kristopher Huff.
Survivors include two grandchildren: Kayla Wittenberg and husband Tyler and Derick Welton and wife Morgan; two great-grandchildren: Payton and Hannah; his best friend: Daisy Deweese and her children and grandchildren, all of whom he considered close family: Addison Grace “Addie” Deweese, Jennifer Williams, Richard Deweese, Gracen Williams, Thomas Christian Williams, Isabella Williams, Bailey Deweese, Julian Deweese, Damien Deweese and a host of other friends.

Ronnie Sexton, 70

Ronald Lewis “Ronnie” Sexton, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Tom and Rheta (Wheat) Sexton was born June 14, 1952 in taylor County and departed this life on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Elizabethtown at the Baptist Health Hardin. He was 70 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church and was a Veteran, having served in the Army National Guard and was retired from Fruit of the Loom.

Ronnie, as he was mostly called enjoyed baseball, bowling and spending time with family.

He united in marriage to Debra Sapp, who survives.

Survivors include his wife: Debbie Sexton; a son: Christopher and wife Destini; a sister: Beverly Taylor and one expectant grandson: Cullen Sexton; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Denise and Tony Reynolds, Dinah and Jon Leibeck, Tim and Michelle Sapp and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Ronnie Sexton will be Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery.

Stella Morrison

Stella Thomas Morrison of the Mac Community of  Taylor County, Kentucky departed this life on September 20, 2022 at the age of 89, only a short distance from the place where she was born on August 21, 1933, daughter of the late Thomas Hendricks Johnson and Edmonia Cessna Howard Purcell Johnson.

Stella was a homemaker.  She was a meticulous housekeeper and an excellent cook.  Before her health failed, she raised a large garden and enjoyed tending her chickens.  She was a textbook of information about the families in her native community.    Most importantly, Stella had professed faith in Jesus Christ when a young woman and lived a consistent Christian life.  She was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.  She read and studied her Bible each day until failing vision intervened.  She adored music, particularly the old hymns, and was a talented pianist, having played the piano for the Sunday School Services at the Medco Nursing Home for many years.  Stella was a jolly soul who loved games and playing practical jokes.
She was united in marriage to Elton Powers “Chief” Morrison on March 6, 1965.  He preceded her in death on August 18, 2007.  Stella was also preceded in death by an infant son, Stevenson Purcell Reynolds, on May 24, 1954.
Survivors include a nephew, Gary Johnson and his wife, Judy; two great-nephews: Josh Johnson and his wife, Leeann, and Jeremy Johnson; great-great nieces and nephews: Ashton Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Shelby Martin, Tanner Martin and Bryce Cook.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Josie Morrison, of Campbellsville.
In addition to her husband and child, Stella was preceded in death by a brother, Hiestand Johnson, a nephew, Thomas Wayne Johnson and a host of friends and other relatives.
