Geneva Sullivan of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Jimmy Hunt and Julie Ben Caulk Hunt, was born March 30, 1932 in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 4:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 90
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church.
Geneva enjoyed cooking and would feed anyone who visited. She loved to can, pick blackberries and quilt. Her family said she had a heart of gold.
She united in marriage to Leon Sullivan March 10, 1951 and he preceded her in death May 17, 2017.
Geneva is survived by two sons and one daughter: Randy Sullivan and wife, Betty, Mike Sullivan and Donna Wright and husband, Jeff of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Lindsay Wright and husband, Andrew, Cory Wright and wife, Chelsea, Jeremy Sullivan, Shanna Judd, Greta Sullivan Caldwell and Amy Sullivan Brown; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jade Sullivan May 5, 2012 and five brothers and three sisters: Walter Hunt, Preston Hunt, Clayton Hunt, Benny Hunt, Gene Hunt, Kathryn Sullivan, Effie Hunt Sullivan and Burnetta Allen.

Betty Pauline Pike of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Cecil Ray Philpott and Lottie Hudson Philpott, was born March 9, 1937 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She went to her Heavenly home at 11:42 PM, Sunday, September 11, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
She professed faith in Christ and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Pauline was a retired cafeteria manager and bookkeeper at Shepherdsville Middle School. She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook, and an avid reader.
She united in marriage to Ira Lynwood Pike and he preceded her in death September 15, 2006.
Pauline is survived by two daughters: Annette Dean of Eads, Tennessee and Dinah Pike of Russell, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Lucas Chinn of Mt. Washington, Jessica Sasser of Ashland, Ger Sasser and wife, Cassie also of Ashland, and Isaac Houston of Russell; two great-grandchildren: Kyler Sasser and Gerris Sasser.
Pauline was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Philpott August 28, 2021.

Willard Lindsey Wise of Campbellsville, son of the late Ira E. Wise and Sarah Frances Phillips Wise, was born October 26, 1922, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 8:38 P.M., Sunday, September 11, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 99
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Willard had worked with the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and had gone on a Baptist Mission Trip to Russia and Guatamala.
Willard was a retired finish carpenter and still worked on his farm. He had built his own house with his wife, Delma and even cutting their own timber to build it with. They were members of the Christian Motorcycle Club and had ridden motorcycles in forty-eight states.
He united in marriage to Delma Goodin October 16, 1945.
Besides his wife, Delma Wise of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Willard Wise and wife, Angie, Winfrey Wise and wife, Kathie and Leoda Watson and husband, Roger of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren: Leanne Wise-Sutton, Melody Burress, David Wise, Joshua Watson, Benjamin Watson, Troy Watson and Bryan Watson, all of Campbellsville; two step-grandchildren: Daron Vaughn of Campbellsville and Phillip Harmon of Villa Hills; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Roberts of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Willard was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Angela Gail Wise and Bonnie Jean Wise and two brothers and two sisters: Willie Wise, Valus Wise, Mary Jane Wise and Mary Bernice Wise.

Calvin Montgomery of Lebanon formerly of Campbellsville, son the late Walter Montgomery and Lovie Crawhorn Montgomery was born September 2, 1949 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 11:05 A.M. Friday, September 9, 2022 in Lebanon. Age: 73
He professed faith in Christ and attended Tucker Hill Baptist Church.
He was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Cox Interior.
Calvin was a great family man; he never met a stranger and would talk as long as anyone would talk to him. He enjoyed watching Andy Griffith reruns and Westerns and loved watching soap operas after work with Brenda but always claimed only she liked them. He was a big University of Kentucky Basketball fan and a fan of any team playing Duke University.
Calvin united in marriage to Brenda Wright who survives.
Besides his wife, Brenda Montgomery of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter, Dana Withrow of Lebanon; five grandchildren: Jaye Withrow (Calvin’s best friend for 29 years) and wife, Ashley of Bedford, Aliah King and Raven King of Lebanon and Eric Perkins and Kayla Bishop and husband, Tim of Columbia; one sister, Louise Scott of Columbia, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Pepper Graybeal, a grandchild, Brooke King and two sisters: Wanda Brewer and Helen Montgomery.

Mr. Henry Wayne Durham, son of the late RIchard and Flossie (Patrum) Durham, was born in Greensburg on December 4, 1939. He departed this life on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the University of Louisville Hospital, being 82 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Durham was a self-employed salesman; his friendly demeanor and natural inclination to talk served him well in his occupation. He enjoyed spending time with the sick and shut-in, and was always ready in a minute to respond to any need anyone may have, and he was especially proud of his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Three children: David Durham of Lexington, Robert Durham of Campbellsville, and Roy Durham, II and wife Tina of Georgetown,
Two sisters: Margaret Perkins of Campbellsville, and Marcia Alcorn of Nashville,

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Wayne Durham on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Bobby Neal will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Lebanon.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 11:00 AM until time for the service.

Walter Ronald Murley of Campbellsville, the son of the late Walter Bransford and Lillian Leona (Berry) Murley, was born January 23, 1950 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Greensburg at the Green Hill Manor. He was 72 years of age.
He served his country honorably, having served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division during Vietnam, where he received a bronze service star, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal, Expert Rifle and Expert M-60 MG.
He united in marriage to Janet (Cissell) Murley on July 20, 1974, who preceded him in death in 2020. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Roger L. “Slick” Murley, Allen Murley and Ed Murley.
Survivors include a son: Shane Murley of Campbellsville; a sister: Pat Clark of Louisville; a brother: Bill Murley of North Carolina; a grandchild: Kaleigh Murley and fiance’ Jacob Wilson of Campbellsville; two great-grandchildren: JoJo and Keelee and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Walter Ronald Murley will be conducted Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lebanon National Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard with burial to follow.

Mrs. Tina Marie of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Norton Inpatient Care Center following a lengthy illness. Daughter of Linda (Lichtsinn) and the late Carlie Hicks, she was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 25, 1972, and was 49 years of age at the time of her passing. She was a former employee of Druthers Restaurant and was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Karnes had an independent spirit, but took every available opportunity to help someone in need.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Marie Hewitt, her father, Carlie Hicks, and a sister, Kimberly Hicks.
She leaves to cherish her memory:

Two children: Cartina Hewitt and Johnathon Hewitt,
Her spouse: Darrell “D.L.” Karnes,

Margaret Edith Parson was born December 17, 1935 to Chester and Mary Eva Wise. She died at 11:34 A.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 86
She accepted Jesus as her Savior early in life and lived a life that pointed others to Christ and always served the Lord to the fullest. She was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple. She was a devoted wife to Samuel Parson for 64 years who preceded her in death in March of 2021. She was a retired secretary for Taylor County Elementary. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist who played for local churches as well as provided piano lessons for several years.
Margaret loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Ron and Debbie Parson of Campbellsville. Three grandchildren, Kurtis Parson and wife Corah of Great Falls, Montana, Brianne Parson of Great Falls, Montana, Alaina Ramsay and husband Ryan of Riceville, Tennessee. Seven great grandchildren, Alexandra and Caleb Owens, Micah and Mason Parson, Jade, Taya, and Eliza Ramsay.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Richard Wise, Albert Wise, Ernest Wise Sr., Floyd Wise, Martha Rhynearson, Bessie Whitlock, and Gladys Bowen. She is survived by three sisters-in law Pauline Wise, Glenda Lawson, and Brenda Parsons, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Bluegrass Way Assisted Living where Margaret lived for over a year and a half. Their loving care and concern will never be forgotten.

Joshua Doyle Simpson, Sr., the son of Carol Jean (Simpson) Brown and the late Doyle Eugene Waymon, was born January 14, 1985 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Campbellsville. He was 37 years of age.
He was a mold setter for Wilbert Plastics in Lebanon and was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include his mother: Carol Jean Brown; his children: Joshua Simpson, Jr., Jacob Eugene Simpson, Kenzie Negron, Zehavah Negron, Elyjah Steward; his brothers: Brandon Brown, Trent Waymon and fiancé Heather Blakenship and Micah Sears; a nephew: Ryan Sears; his fiancé: Kari Bottoms and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father: Billy Ray “Goat” Brown and a sister: Tara Simpson Lamer.
The funeral service for Joshua Doyle Simpson, Sr., will be Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Dorothy Dooley Chappel of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Leslie Price and Cora Martin Price, was born January 3, 1938 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 4:10 A.M., Monday, September 5, 2022 in Greensburg. Age: 84
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church but later attended Elk Horn United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after some thirty plus years of service.
She took pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and often babysat them after her retirement from Fruit of the Loom. She also loved her fur babies.
She united in marriage to James J. “Jim” Dooley June 9, 1956 and he preceded her in death November 4, 1990. She later united in marriage to Gerald Chappel August 27, 1993 and he preceded her in death July 8, 2004.
Dorothy is survived by one son and one daughter: Ronnie Dooley and wife, Donna and Kay Agee and husband, Paul of Campbellsville; one daughter-in-law, Tracy Dooley of Campbellsville; three step-children: Mark Chappel, Jamie Chappel and Lucretia Chappel of Campbellsville; nine grandchildren: Paula Agee Moran and husband, Roger of Green County, Jaime Dooley of Breeding, Chrystal Sallee and husband, Derrick of Liberty, Josh Dooley, Joey Dooley, Samantha Dooley, Andy Dooley and Patrick Dooley of Campbellsville and Rita Jones and husband, Nick of Columbia; one step-grandson, Jonathan Price and wife, Katie of Florida; several great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Donald Price of Campbellsville, Ella Berry and Cedell Cox and husband, Paul of Shepherdsville; one sister-in-law, Virginia Price of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
