Danny Gerhardt, 79

Mr. Danny W. Gerhardt of Campbellsville was born on September 13, 1942 in Walhalla, North Dakota to the late Phillip and Jean (Kuhn) Gerhardt. He departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Gerhardt had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of St. Joe Catholic Church. He was a Mason, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, a past candidate of the North Dakota House of Representatives, and a past member of the North Dakota Association of the Blind. A welder by trade, a husband and father by desire, he also enjoyed making homemade sausage, pheasant hunting, fishing, and watching motorcycle races.

Mr. Gerhardt leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife of almost 56 years: Sheryl Gerhardt of Campbellsville,

Three children: Jean Marie Moor and husband Cory of North Dakota, Danny Gerhardt and wife Tracey of North Dakota, and Bro. David Gerhardt and wife Robin of Campbellsville,

Two siblings: Linda Hamilton of Minnesota, and Bill Marti of North Dakota,

Eleven grandchildren,

Twelve great-grandchildren,

And a host of other family members and friends.

At the request of Mr. Gerhardt, a Masonic service will commence at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. A memorial service, officiated by Bro. David Gerhardt, will commence approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of the Masonic service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday after 3:30 until time for the service.

William “bill” Sublett, 72

William Henry “Bill” Sublett, of Campbellsville, the son of the late James Allen and Beatrice Ann (Matthews) Sublett was born September 24, 1949 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2022 at his home. He was 72 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Soule Chapel United Methodist Church.
Bill showed his love for his family and Jesus Christ daily.
He was a member of the Elk Horn Masonic Lodge and served 12 years in the Kentucky National Guard.
Bill retired after 21 years as a machinist at Parker-Kalon in Campbellsville and retired as the maintenance supervisor for Crescent Hill Manor Apartments. He was a former keyboard player for the Robison’s Gospel Singers.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, raising goats and spending time with his family and his two dogs, skip and cha cha.
He is survived His wife: Clarice (Harden) Sublett; a son: Chris Sublett and wife Lisa; two daughters: Jennifer Burris and companion Jason Anderson, all of Campbellsville and Tracie Boehm and husband Mike of Georgetown.; a brother and sister: Robert Allen Sublett and wife Peggy and Suzanne Phillips and husband Bob, all of Campbellsville.
Also six grandchildren: Nick Sublett and wife Kendra, Danielle Sublett and fiancé Drew Benningfield, Jacob Followell and fiancé Shelby Burdine, Hannah Followell and fiancé Kyle Miles, Brennen Clark and Khloe Burris; a great-grandson: Nixon Sublett and a host of other relatives and friends.

Kenneth “Biggen” Burress, 55

Mr. Kenneth Dwayne “Biggen” Burress of Campbellsville passed suddenly from this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home. Born in Taylor County on November 12, 1966 to the late Charles Kenneth and Sarah JoAnn (Williams) Burress, he was 55 years of age. He was a former truck driver, only retiring due to disabilities. His lifetime companion, Kristi Peterson, preceded him in death in 2019. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Wayne Burress.

Biggen is survived by a sister, Jenise Sherrill of Campbellsville, and a host of extended family and friends.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Judy S. Benningfield, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Gilbert Shively and Exie Wise Shively, was born March 16, 1947 in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 2:34 A.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 75
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.
Judy was a retired loan processor with Citizens Bank and Trust Company. She was also a former secretary with the Marion County Attorney’s office for twenty-five years.
She enjoyed gardening and writing in her journals.
She united in marriage to Carroll Benningfield March 25, 1967 and he preceded her in death December 21, 2016.
Judy is survived by one son and one daughter: Kelly Carney and husband, Mark of Campbellsville and Keith Benningfield of Louisville; four grandchildren: Kaitlyn Green and husband, Ricky, Drew Benningfield and fiancée’, Danielle Sublett, Mackenzie Carney and fiancée’, Grant McQueary and Shelby Hinton and husband, Jordan of Campbellsville; two great-grandchildren: Fletcher Green and Hadleigh Hinton; two sisters: Barbara Jean Benningfield and husband, Edward “Boss” of Campbellsville and Mary Frances Veatch and husband, David of St. Joe; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Paul Shively.

Barbara S. Morris Gordon, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Wilson Errett Morris and Ruby Evaline Benningfield Morris, was born August 3, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 4:54 A.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in Campbellsville.
Age: 82
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Barbara was a retired clerk with Wal Mart.
She united in marriage to Kenneth Joe Gordon and he preceded her in death.
She loved long drives in the country, jewelry of all kinds and her animals.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

ason Lee Covey of Campbellsville, the son of June Louise (Smith) Milby and the late James William Jordan, was born October 6, 1979 in Decatur, Illinois and departed this life on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his residence. He was 42 years of age.

He was a welder at Manchester Tank in Campbellsville and was of the Baptist Faith.

Jason enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, music and singing, but most of all his family and being a great dad to his kids.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother: Anthony Smith and grandparents: Millie Easterling and Robert Smith.

He is survived by his wife: Brianna (Morgan) Covey of Campbellsville; his parents: June and Kent Milby of Campbellsville; his children: Ethan Roberts, Lacy Covey, Leah Covey, Ahkiilix Jayson-Lee Covey and Jayla Covey all of Campbellsville.

Jacquelin Marie Ward Bennett

Jacquelin Marie Ward Bennett, age 78, passed away peacefully in Lexington, Kentucky on March 23.
Jackie was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 5, 1943 to Jackson B. and Iris A. Ward. She developed her relationship with Christ and many lifelong friends at Walnut Street Baptist Church, just blocks from her house. She worked to put herself through school at Campbellsville University (then Campbellsville College). Jackie had an adventurous spirit. She worked summers in Colorado, hiking the mountain trails. She also traveled Europe. After college, Jackie worked as a school teacher.
Through Campbellsville College she met and married Jerry Bennett, settled in Campbellsville, and raised three children. Her faith walk continued at Campbellsville Baptist Church.
Jackie was a devoted mother and grandmother, noting that being a mother was her “true calling”. Her passion was nutrition, as she fiercely fought cancer for many years, outliving many doctors’ prognoses.
After Jerry’s death in 2006, Jackie married her childhood friend from Louisville, George Roberts.
Jackie fiercely loved her children and grandchildren. Although she will be missed, she is walking in paradise today with Our Lord.
Jackie was proceeded in death by her parents, Jackson B. and Iris A. Ward, first husband Jerry Bennett, and second husband, George Roberts. She leaves behind 3 children, Jerry Dale Bennett II (Robin) of Tucson, Arizona; Jeff Bennett (Liz) of Lexington, Kentucky; Jennifer Bennett of Lexington, Kentucky; two step children, Byron Roberts (Debbie) of Union, Kentucky; Michelle Anderson of East Peoria, Illinois; two grandchildren, Zoe Bennett, Jentry Myers; eight step-grandchildren, Brandon Baney (Marissa), Brittany Baney, Tyler Roberts (Blake), Hannah Hill (Ryan), Kelsey Anderson, Katy Anderson, William Anderson V and Natalie Breidel; and many family and friends.
Jackie was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Joyce Avenna.

Wanda Perkins, 83

Mrs. Wanda Faye (Bland) Cash Perkins of Lebanon passed from this life on March 22, 2022 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. Born in Taylor County on November 30, 1938 to the late Hershel and Edwin (Gribbin) Bland, she was 83 years of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lebanon. She was a former member of Tallow Creek Methodist Church over 50 years. Mrs. Perkins was the widow of Mr. Clarence Perkins, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 26, 2013. She was a caregiver for the elderly for 20 years, a 10 year employee of the Growers Tobacco Warehouse in Lebanon, and an 8 year manager for Bluegrass Party Sales of Elizabethtown covering Taylor and surrounding counties with in-home Tupperware presentations. She will be remembered best as an exemplary Christian mother and grandmother, being God-centered and very family-oriented, an excellent cook, and a directing light for daily living.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Two children: Michelle Cash of Lebanon, and Byron Tim Cash and wife Sandy of Mannsville,

Two siblings: Jerry Lee Bland and companion Cecile of Mannsville, and Joan Gabehart and husband Jim of Campbellsville,

She was also preceded in death by a former spouse: Paul Cash, Jr.; two children: Penny Cash Nalley and Sherry Denise Luckett; two siblings: Carlos Bland and Tommy Bland; two sons-in-law: John Hardin and Tommy Nalley; a grandson: James Paul Gabehart; a grandson-in-law: Billy Frazier; a great-grandson: Linken Close; a special aunt: Maxine Phillips; and a grandmother that raised her: Virgie Gribbin Herron Greene.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Perkins on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Dwight Coffman and Bro. Bill Proctor will officiate. She will be carried to her final resting place in the Old Liberty Cemetery in Bradfordsville by Kent Bland, Jordan Proctor, Jason Bland, Andy Close, Madison Hardin, and Tom Tungate.

Linda Sallee, of Campbellsville, daughter of Evelyn Fair Vaught and the late Melvin Hicks, was born February 15, 1960 in Casey County, Kentucky. She died at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 62
She professed faith in Christ and was baptized with two of her children at Liberty Baptist Church.
Linda was a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Adanta Clinical Services.
She united in marriage to Ricky Sallee.
She loved babies and was a generous person, always putting others before herself. Linda never said anything bad about anyone and was a hardworking person, who enjoyed working in her flower beds.
Besides her husband, Ricky Sallee of Campbellsville, she is survived by two sons and two daughters: Christian Gage Sallee, Angela Abbott and husband, Raleigh and Lily Grace Sallee of Campbellsville and Derrick Sallee and wife, Sara of Richmond; four grandchildren: Aden, Leland, Ralpheigh and Ryleigh; two brothers and one sister: Tony Hicks and Annette Cook of Elk Horn and Conrad Hicks and wife, Judy of Junction City;

Barbara Ann Wright Miller, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William E. “Bill” Wright and Martha Velma Page Wright, was born June 10, 1935 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church.
After almost thirty years of service, Barbara retired as an Instructor with Fruit of the Loom. She enjoyed watching basketball and football, especially when the UK Wildcats were playing.
She united in marriage to Charles Douglas “C.D.” Miller November 7, 1953 and he preceded her in death May 30, 2013.
Barbara is survived by three daughters: Sherry Miller and Connie Miller of Frankfort and Kay Wright of Ft. Myers, Florida; two grandchildren: Haley Brooke Wright of Atlanta, Georgia and Coleman Douglas Wright and wife, Alycia of San Diego, California; one great-grandchild, Breland Wright; two sisters: Jan Stephens and husband, John of Campbellsville and Mildred Gardner of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Charles Wright and Jean Ford.
