Lavoy Price

Lavoy Price of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Willie Sprowles and Irene Yates Sprowles, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 25, 1932.  She died at 3:15 P.M., Tuesday, October 4,
2011 in Campbellsville.    Age:  79

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Zion Separate Baptist Church.

She retired as owner and operator of Price’s Grocery for over fifty years.

She united in marriage to Roland W. Price December 1, 1948.  He preceded her in death March 11, 1986.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Gail Price; two grandchildren:  Darrin Price and wife, Nikki and Dana Young of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren:  Audrey Young, Sadie Young, Silas Young, Lanigan Price and Lainey Price; two brothers and three sisters:  Coleman Sprowles and wife, Sue, Glevins Sprowles and wife, Ann, Geneva Shofner, Alberta French and husband, William “Buster” of Campbellsville and Chrystal Sullivan and husband, Larry of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Shively Price September 13, 2011 and one brother, Virgil Sprowles in infancy.

Janice Gaines of Groesbeck, Texas, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John H. Harden and Cleo Bookout Harden, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, October 12, 1935.  She died at 1:15 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2011 in Groesbeck.     Age:  75

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church.

She was a retired hairdresser and employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She is survived by two daughters:  Stephanie Turner Kearney and husband, Michael of Groesbeck, Texas and Delia Gaines Williams and husband, Douglas of Florence, Kentucky; two grandchildren:  Allison Kearney and Jordan Kearney of Texas; two step grandsons: Alex Williams and wife Bethany of Louisville, Kentucky and Kevin Williams of Lexington, Kentucky; one niece, Debra Harden O’Bannon of Campbellsville; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Harden February 14, 2011.

C. Darrell Kemp

C. Darrell Kemp of Campbellsville, son of Argerine Sneed Kemp and the late Coy  Kemp, was born in Green County, Kentucky, July 24, 1950.   He died at 11:08 P.M., Thursday,
September 29, 2011 in Louisville.  Age:  61

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church.

He was an auctioneer, real estate appraiser and owner of C. Darrell Kemp Services.

He was a member of the Kentucky National Guard, the Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F & A M and the Kentucky Auctioneer Association.

He united in marriage to Lois Hubbard December 26, 1969.

Besides his wife, Lois Kemp, he is survived by one son and two daughters:  Terron Stuart Kemp and wife, Carla of Campbellsville, Leigh Ann Crick and husband, Eric of Indianapolis,
Indiana and Laura Allison Kemp and fiancee’, Dustin Grannis of Mason, Ohio; one granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Crick; his mother, Argerine Kemp of Campbellsville; two brothers and one sister:  Donnie Wayne Kemp and wife, Kathy of Lexington, Danny Kemp and Deanna Cowherd and husband, Robert “Boo” of Campbellsville; his mother-in-law, Joyce Hubbard of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
