Richard Kearnes of Campbellsville, son of the late William Cyrus Kearnes and Jessie Marie Wade Kearnes, was born July 31, 1943 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 7:08 P.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Louisville. Age: 77
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.
He served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
Richard was a retired employee of Cox Interior and was a good tool maker and wood worker.
He was member of Elk Horn Masonic Lodge #568 F & A M.
He united in marriage to Arvella Martha Sprowles December 12, 1964 and she preceded him in death July 11, 2015.
Richard was a kind, considerate and caring person who enjoyed making friends, socializing and especially going out to eat. He enjoyed being a jokester had several nicknames from his times on the golf course and at Grandview Nursing & Rehab, such as “The King”, “Mayor of Grandview” and “The Boss”.
He is survived by two sons: Keith Kearnes and wife, LaDonna and Jason Kearnes of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Shea Kearnes Jaggers and husband, Wes, Kyndel Kearnes, Kamryn Kearnes, Megan Teel, Jonathan Walters and Maddox Kearnes; five great-grandchildren: Tristan Teel, Rori Jaggers, Ramsi Jaggers, Travis Teel and Regan May Walters; one brother and six sisters: William C. Kearnes, Jr. of California, Margaret Tomes, Frances Rodgers and Sue Kearnes of Campbellsville, Dottie Chelf and husband, Mike of Elizabethtown, Linda Pearman and husband, Joe of Hodgenville and Brenda Arnett and husband, Leonard of Rineyville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Richard was also preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Karen Gail Kearnes and one brother and two sisters: James M. Kearnes, Anna Simerson and Nancy E. Kearnes in infancy.

Gary Dale Brown

Gary Dale Brown, 69, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late Jesse Vernon Brown and Mary Stayton Brown, was born June 21st, 1951 in Casey County, Kentucky, and departed this life on January 2nd, 2021, at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after an extended illness.  Mr. Brown professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

Mr. Brown was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he obtained his nursing degree. Mr. Brown was employed as a Registered Nurse at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville for 30 plus years. He was a Mason, and in his free time could be found hunting, fishing, reading books, or listening to his favorite music.

Mr. Brown is survived by one son; Jimmy Dale Brown of Louisville, Kentucky, Four grandchildren; Josh Brown, Jimi Brown, Jude Brown, and Jocelin Brown all of Taylorsville, Kentucky.

One brother and one sister; Jesse Vernon Brown II and wife Charene of Yulee, Florida, and Sharon Gilpin and husband Brian of Lexington, Kentucky.

Besides his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by one sister Rita Rose Brown.

A walk-through visitation will be held Friday, January 8th, 2021, 5 – 8 PM EST at Auberry Funeral Home and Cremation Services in downtown Campbellsville.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM EST, Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville with Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating.

Social distancing guidelines and masks are required upon entering the building.

Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery in Liberty, Kentucky with full military honors by the Marion County Chapter DAV Honor Guard.

Bro. Billie Whitehouse, 78

Bro. Billie Ray Whitehouse of Campbellsville was born on November 23, 1942 in Frankfort to the late Jessie Wallace and Geneva (Peyton) Whitehouse. He departed this life on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness. He was a factory certified mechanic and a retiree of Bluegrass Lincoln Mercury in Louisville and Don Franklin Ford in Columbia, where he had worked a combined 45 years. Although his talents as a mechanic were well-deserved and established, his true passion in life was in spreading God’s love to the world. In 2003, he took a pastorship and started Beulahland Community Church. His many kindnesses and encouraging words helped lift many broken and wounded spirits.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife: Annie (Wells) Whitehouse,

Six children: Dean Whitehouse, Tammy Martin and companion Mitch, Angie Hicks and companion Karen, Lance Allen, Cassie Sprowles and husband Shawn, and Lorrie Hicks;

Close friends: Mike Cox, Todd Gabehart, Robby Pittman, and Bro. Doug Acree,

A daughter-in-law: Brenda Whitehouse,

Sixteen grandchildren,

Twenty-two great-grandchildren,

Four great-great grandchildren,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a son, David Ray Whitehouse in 2020; a sister, Shirley Young in 2020; a brother as an infant; and a step-son, Larry Hicks, Jr.

The family will receive friends for a walk-through visitation on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY.

There will be a private funeral service for Bro. Whitehouse officiated by Bro. Doug Acree held at a later date. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
