Ashley Nicole Swiney, 30

Mrs. Ashleigh Nicole “Ginger” Swiney passed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at her home in Campbellsville. Daughter of the late Steven Swiney and Sonya Renee (Bryant) Catlett, she was 30 years, 5 months, and 9 days of age. Mrs. Swiney had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was a patriot and proudly served her country honorably in the United States Army. Though cystic fibrosis would eventually claim her life, she rarely complained, and will be remembered for her good-natured pranks and her infectious laughter in spite of her many difficulties.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Her husband: Antonio Suggs of Campbellsville,

Two children: Aiden McAllister and Micah Boop,

Two step-children: Eli Mason and Jaiden Mason,

Close friends and caregivers: Samantha and Wesley Ward of Campbellsville,

Her chosen nieces and nephews: Tyler Booth, Emma Estes, Carter Ward, and Xander Ward,

And a host of other family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Swiney on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home. Bro. Will Burgess will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 5, from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

Clifford Carnes, 66

Mr. Clifford Larry Carnes of Campbellsville, beloved husband of Mamie (Kidwell) Carnes, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. Born on June 15, 1953 to the late Clifford and Betty (Bryant) Carnes, he was 66 years, 4 months, and 15 days of age. Mr. Carnes had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of God’s Grace Church. He was an avid golfer, he loved bowling, and he enjoyed watching sports of all types. Mr. Carnes was a former employee of Airborne Express and a cherished father, brother, and grandfather.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

His wife: Mamie Carnes of Greensburg,

Two sons: Darin Carnes and wife Shaun of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nick Carnes of Summittville, Indiana,

Two stepdaughters: Beverly Creason Wright and fiancé Lee Bishop of Campbellsville, and Ashley Creason of Greensburg,

Three siblings: Dennis Carnes and wife Viola of Indianapolis, Robert Carnes and wife Patty of Michigan, and Robin Burton and husband Gary of Campbellsville,

A stepbrother: Larry Akin of Campbellsville,

Two step-grandchildren,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Vernice Carnes; and three siblings, Ronald D. Carnes, Darlene Decker, and Gary Carnes.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Carnes on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. John Stilts will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery in Adair County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 2, after 6:00 PM.

Barbara Parrish, 56

Barbara Jean Grider Parrish, the daughter of the late Guy and Ruby (Polston) Grider, was born Thursday, May 9, 1963 in Burkesville, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the T.J. Health in Columbia. She was 56 years, 5 months and 22 days of age.

She was a former caregiver before becoming disabled. After her health declined, she enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows and reading.

She is survived by seven children: Linda Muse and husband Brian, Barbara Denton, Lisa Parrish and fiance’ Chris Alexander, Teresa Aquino and fiance’ Samuels Chazez, Anthony Parrish, Cody Grider, Cindy Shaw and husband Michael all of Columbia and Crystal Mauldin of Cave City; a sister: Loretta Burton of Columbia; her former spouse: Tony Parrish of Edmonton; her nephews: Bobby Shive and Charles and Brittany Muse; thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Parrish was also preceded in death by two sons: Tony Allen Parrish and Marty Lee Parrish and two brothers: Guy Allen Grider and Marty Eugene Grider.

The funeral service for Barbara Jean Grider Parrish will be Monday, November 4, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. EST (12 CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Fudge Cemetery at Breeding.

Visitation after 11:00 A.M. EST (10 CST) on Monday until time for the service.
