Mr. Thomas Edward “Tom” Smith of Campbellsville, formerly of Arizona, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 18, 2024 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, having attained the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 11 days. He was born in Wilcox, Arizona on September 7, 1941 to the late O.T. and Marjorie (Potts) Smith, and was an entrepreneur by trade. He was a devout member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church while holding close his Catholic roots. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army and a proud supporter of the American Legion, and a graduate of Eastern Arizona College and Northern Arizona University. He had a dry sense of humor and loved to tease people, but was ever the gentleman. A man of many talents and interests, he especially enjoyed a round of golf and usually had a camera close to capture the moment.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
His wife of 41 years: Lula Raye (Carney) Smith,
Three children: Chris Carney and companion Ann Franklin of Campbellsville, Leann Moyers and husband T.J. of Arizona, and Andy Kaiser and wife Mary of California,
A sister: Ricki Huggins of Arizona,
Two sisters-in-law: Kay Krug and Cindy Williams,
Five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends in Arizona and Kentucky, including lifelong friends Gus (or, “Elvis”), Linda, and Rosie, and others too numerous to mention.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marta Lou Schultz and Rilla Cunningham.
There will be a memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Tom Smith on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM EDT in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. John Butler will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, after 12:00 PM EDT.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Those can be made in person at the funeral home.

Martha Lamp of Liberty, KY, the daughter of the late Fred King and Martha Bridger King was born September 5, 1963 in Rockford, Maryland and departed this life on March 1, 2024 in Campbellsville. She was 60 years of age.
She was of the Methodist Faith and had been employed as a sales associate and administrative assistant. She enjoyed painting, reading, going to the beach and collecting shells, crossword puzzles, spending time with Shiloh and animals, spending time with her granddaughter, watching shows or reading about crime, and cooking.
She is survived by one son and one daughter: Joshua Michael Lamp of San Diego, CA and Samantha Taylor Lamp of Chesapeake, VA. One granddaughter: Noemi Sarah Lamp.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
The family has chosen cremation and all services will be held privately.

Joseph Rader Murphy of Campbellsville, the son of the late John Murphy and Ruby Daugherty Murphy, was born on April 23, 1942, and departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Green Hill Manor Nursing Home. He was 81 years of age.
He was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired employee of General Electric. He enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, and hanging out with friends on their farms. He was a veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He united in marriage to Phyllis Faye McQueary Murphy and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2023.
He is survived by one son: Jarrod Shane Murphy of Campbellsville, and one sister: Donna Murphy of Campbellsville. Also surviving are special friends: Terry Walker and Dwayne Curry.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: James Murphy, Jerry Murphy, and Roger Murphy.
The funeral service for Joseph Rader Murphy will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the L. R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
The family requests visitation on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until the time for the service at the funeral home.
